María Adelaida Penagos, the creator of the brand Miau, is this year's star in the Movistar Catwalk, as is designer Francesca Miranda.
Both women will show their collections, which were elaborated with material proceeding from Colombia's arts and crafts communities. María Adelaida chose ceramics from Carmen de Víboral in Eastern Antioquia.
Movistar, who is sponsoring the catwalk, is working alongside Proexport, Artesanías de Colombia, Inexmoda and the Presidency to create a more authentic image of the country which then to project to the world through fashion.
The Movistar Catwalk will be taking place on Monday (evening) in the Columbus School and is meant to open the Colombiamoda fair, which goes from 10 July to 12 July.
